2024 Corvette E-Ray Preview
Since electric vehicles started growing in popularity, a handful of auto retailers have released their respective muscle cars in a redesigned, repackaged, electric, or hybrid version. And let’s be honest – what would any group of electric muscle or sports cars be without the addition of “America’s Sports Car” itself – the Chevrolet Corvette? Slated to arrive at dealers like Joe Basil Chevrolet in the near future, let’s look into whether the new Corvette E-Ray lives up to the expectations of the original.
Power and Agility
Weak performance is no longer associated with hybrids and EVs. In fact, certain hybrid models produce higher amounts of horsepower than standard fuel-powered engines. When you pair a 6.2L V8 with an electric motor, the result is an incredible 655 horsepower. And that’s not all top-end power, as the Corvette E-Ray yields a 0 to 60 time of just 2.5 seconds.
Handling
With the Chevy Corvette E-Ray, you’ll no longer want to avoid the curviest roads in Buffalo. Instead, you’ll seek out the most exciting trails that Lancaster has to offer. All of this is thanks to things like AWD and carbon ceramic brakes, allowing you to handle hairpin turns like never before. In addition, the magnetorheological dampers for wheel support guarantee a ride that digs into the pavement the harder you accelerate.
Stealth Mode
One of the most futuristic and forward moving features of the new Chevy Corvette is Stealth mode. In what seems like a trick out of the Batmobile page, drivers can opt for solely electric operation, killing the noisy gas-powered engine to drive for up to five miles with a top speed of 45 miles per hour. This is excellent for those with neighbors they don’t want to bother or areas with noise ordinances.
